September 24th, 2012 (TopGun Press) – The Brendan Wood Index incorporates company by company ratings of 2000 major shareholders globally, managing over three trillion dollars of equity investments. TopGun analysts, institutional brokers and traders add market trading perspective to the index. In addition to this real time Shareholder Confidence poll, Brendan Wood also collects ratings from investors and corporate expansion executives on the business attractiveness of governments of over 40 countries. Boards of Directors continued to attract lowest approval from shareholders, yet the boards who did connect with shareholders created a very significant advantage to their companies. “The invisibility of directors to the shareholders who purportedly elect them has been the mark of a weaker enterprise from the shareholder perspective. By contrast, directors with high ratings set their companies apart. Although many companies with dysfunctional boards have been challenged of late, boards have a long way to go,” said Brendan Wood, Chairman of Brendan Wood International.

The Brendan Wood Shareholder Confidence Index is used by corporate officers and directors as a shareholder development tool and by investors to assess their holdings with peers worldwide.
