STOCKHOLDER CONVICTION INDEX HOLDS ON TO HISTORICAL LEVEL
This result predicts a continuation of the recent high levels of global investment.
Already at an unprecedented conviction level, propelling a recent surge, the world’s most powerful investors anticipate a continuation and yet a further minor net increase in their quality assessments of the 1400 large cap names on the Brendan Wood Index. The index is updated daily through personal debriefings with over 2000 global investors in the Brendan Wood panel who manage approximately USD $18 trillion in large cap equity assets. “This is not an opinion survey by any means, rather a stock by stock investigation of shareholder selection metrics which translate into conviction. The source data comes from ground up examination of investor ‘buy-in’ metrics on a company by company basis across 1400 corporate names. To arrive at overall shareholder conviction, data are aggregated into industry sectors and then into the Brendan Wood global equity universe”, said Brendan Wood, Chairman, Brendan Wood International. “Future events are the wild card. The Index is updated daily for a reason. Results can change rapidly as investors can and do react to events beyond their control”, said Mr. Wood. The Stockholder Conviction Index real time data is used by fund managers and activistic investors to select/monitor conventional portfolio holdings and large bet strategic investments $1b+. Corporate clients of BWI subscribe to the Shareholder Conviction Index to maintain surveillance and optimize the management of their shareholder franchises. Companies facing challenges use the data and BWI counsel to respond effectively to shareholder concerns, as well as activistic or pro-active shareholder agendas.
